The First Bulgarian Telecommunications Satellite to be Launched in 2023
The first Bulgarian telecommunications satellite BALKANSAT 30B is expected to be launched in 2023. This was announced during the first press conference of BalkanSat in Bulgaria. It was held online due to the epidemic situation and aroused considerable interest among the local media. During the event, the journalists were acquainted with the BALKANSAT 30B system that will provide secure communications over the Bulgarian territory both for the public and the private sector.
It was announced that the company’s services can be used by governmental and military institutions such as state and municipal administrations, military sites, fire brigades, civil protection. The connection is high-quality and secure and the most important advantage is that the signal is encrypted, so it cannot be eavesdropped or tracked. BalkanSat 30B will also accelerate the development of e-education and e-medicine, which are crucial for every modern society.
During the press conference, it was given further information on the high-speed broadband connection that BalkanSat will provide to the public sector – broadcasters, medium or large enterprises, network operators.
Victor Stephanopoli, Public Affairs Director at BalkanSat, commented: “The launch of a Bulgarian telecommunication satellite will bring a lot of benefits for the Bulgarian economy. The most important advantage of BalkanSat 30B is its reach, so we will be able to create better connectivity for the country. We are producing an entirely Bulgarian product and our ambition is to actively partner with local companies and to create high-paid jobs for local experts”.
